Welcome!
"A Parent Link Centre provides parents
and their children with supports to ensure that the children
come to school ready to learn and ensure that parents have the
supports needed to help their children develop and fulfill their
potential. Parents will be able to access information about community
services, obtain referrals, and meet other parents, children,
and families, while taking part in quality early learning activities
at a Parent Link Centre.
The Government of Alberta has committed $6
million towards the Parent Link Centre initiative that will support
parent resource centres across the province. Two of these centres
will have an Aboriginal focus. Funding will build on the government's
estimated $5 million in existing funding to parent resource centres
by Child and Family Services Authorities and Family and Community
Support Services programs." (Alberta
Children’s Services website)
The
Parent Link Centres provide all families with programs,
referrals, support and resources to strengthen parenting skills,
enabling parents to help their children develop to their full
potential and enter school ready to learn.
McMan would like to thank the Kinette
Club of Medicine Hat together with the Alberta
Lottery Fund for
their generous matched contributions of $10,500 used in the
purchase of the McMan Parent Link Centre van. This contribution
will allow the Parent Link Centre to continue to provide valuable
