WHAT IS A PARENT LINK CENTRE &
WHAT DOES IT PROVIDE?

PLC Logo

A Parent Link Centre provides parents and their children with supports to ensure that the children come to school ready to learn and ensure that parents have the supports needed to help their children develop and fulfill their potential. Parents will be able to access information about community services, obtain referrals, and meet other parents, children, and families, while taking part in quality early learning activities.

The Government of Alberta has committed $6 million towards the Parent Link Centre initiative that will support parent resource centres across the province. Two of these centres will have an Aboriginal focus. Funding will build on the government's estimated $5 million in existing funding to parent resource centres by Child and Family Services Authorities and Family and Community Support Services programs.

The Parent Link Centres provide all families with programs, referrals, support and resources to strengthen parenting skills, enabling parents tohelp their children develop to their full potential and enter school ready to learn.
